Steve Cowan

Steve Cowan is a co-founder of 57 Stars LLC, an independent global investment manager owned and managed by its investment team focused on partnership and co-investment in select private equity markets outside of the United States, primarily in ‘Emerging Markets’. With more than USD2.0 billion under management, 57 Stars operates out of five offices around the world. The 57 Stars team has approximately 100 years of collective experience investing in international private equity markets. Prior to 57 Stars, Cowan served in the Investment Funds Department of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). He received his AB (magna cum laude and with honors) in Political Science and Development Studies from Brown University, a JD from the Harvard Law School, and participated in the Yale-in-China program at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
