Tim Buckley
Tim Buckley has 25 years of financial markets experience, having spent the majority of this time as a top-rated equities research analyst in Australia, with some time covering global and Asian equity markets. He is highly experienced at analysing and valuing listed equity investments. Buckley is co-founder and managing director of Arkx Investment Management, an investor in leading global-listed clean energy companies. Additionally, Arkx consults in the low carbon finance sector, providing an international perspective into the Australian market. Along with Tom Sanzillo, Buckley co-authored the report “Stranded – A Financial Analysis of GVK’s proposed Alpha Coal Project in Australia’s Galilee Basin.” Buckley is also a member of the Australasian Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) and serves on the IGCC’s low carbon finance committee. Between 1988 and 1998, Buckley was employed as an equities research analyst at Macquarie Equities Ltd, County Natwest Securities, and Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Asia. From 1998 to 2007 he held the position of managing director at Citigroup as head of Australasian equity research. Buckley was responsible for special projects research, equity capital markets research, and investment banking coordination/vetting for the Australasian Commitments Committee. He was additionally responsible for the evaluation of all IPO and equity market issuance mandates at Citigroup. From 2008 to January 2010, Buckley was head of equities at Shaw Stockbroking, an Australian equities specialist advising retail clients with equity portfolios totalling over $5bn.
