W. Thomas Reeder Jr., Director, Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate in 2015 as the 15th Director of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, which protects the pension benefits of more than 40 million Americans in private-sector pension plans.  Reeder has a long background as a partner in an international law firm practicing employee benefits law, Benefits Tax Counsel in the Office of Tax Policy in the Treasury Department under three Administrations, a member of the majority staff of the Senate Finance Committee, and Health Care Counsel in the Office of Chief Counsel at the IRS.  Reeder is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate School of Business, and School of Law.
