Whitney George has been the portfolio manager of the Sprott Focus Trust since 2003. Prior to joining Sprott in 2015, Mr. George spent 23 years in senior roles at Royce & Associates in New York. Mr. George was co-Chief Investment officer of Royce from 2009 to 2013 and subsequently was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager.  In his time at Royce, he was instrumental in helping to build the firm into one of the largest and most respected small-cap managers in the US.  Before Royce, Mr. George held positions with Dominick & Dominick, Inc., WR Lazard & Laidlaw, Inc., Laidlaw, Adams & Peck, and Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Trinity College.
