Yoshiko Yamaguchi, CFA

Yoshiko Yamaguchi, CFA, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Soya Japan, a strategic consulting firm founded in 2022 that connects U.S. institutional investors and asset owners with Japanese financial institutions, corporations, and government entities. Yoshiko works extensively with both General Partners (GPs) and Limited Partners (LPs), mainly focusing on alternative investments including private credit, private equity, hedge funds, and real assets. She advises GPs on strategy, investor relations, and fundraising, while supporting LPs in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring investment opportunities.

Prior to founding Soya Japan, Yoshiko held senior roles in capital markets and client advisory at Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, Barclays, and Jefferies. She also contributed to business development and market strategy at SuMi Trust Asset Management Americas. Yoshiko is an active industry thought leader, serving as a panelist and moderator. She holds an MBA from New York University, has been a CFA charterholder since 2002, and is fluent in English and Japanese. She was born and raised in Japan and has lived in NYC for over 20 years.
