Heidi Thompson, CFA, is a global equity portfolio manager and analyst. Most recently at Daiwa Asset Management, Thompson helped launch the Latin America Equities team. As senior vice president and portfolio manager, Thompson managed two Brazil equity funds with $1.3 bn in assets and received the firm’s prestigious internal “Fund Launch of the Year” award in 2010. Overall the team’s assets grew to $1.8 billion across six funds within two years. Thompson’s previous experience was in research sales for foreign equities at Santander, BBVA, and Dexia Securities. She began her career as a fixed-income analyst and assistant portfolio manager of a Latin America bond fund at Offitbank and also served as product manager for municipal bonds at the JP Morgan Private Bank. Thompson is a Chartered Financial Analyst. She holds a BS in German and Spanish and an MA in German literature from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Columbia Business School.
