Senior Director
Sharon Bonelli is a senior director on Fitch Rating’s U.S. leveraged finance team in the corporates rating group. Sharon’s primary responsibility is leveraged market research. She publishes bankruptcy enterprise value and recovery case studies as well as reports covering market trends for bankruptcy filings, second lien debt, defaults, ABL and pay in kind debt. She also participates in ratings criteria development and committees for high yield and leveraged loan issuers.
Prior to joining the leveraged finance team in 2011, Sharon was a member of Fitch’s global power group. Sharon’s responsibilities included analysis of investor-owned electric utilities and wholesale generation companies as well as publication of power industry research. She also managed a team of electric utility and wholesale power analysts.
Prior to joining the global power group in January of 2003, Sharon was a member of the loan products group. In loan products, she rated leveraged loans and high yield bonds, participated in CLO asset manager reviews, and contributed to research on bank loan and bond recoveries.
Prior to joining Fitch in 1999, Sharon was a vice president in the corporate finance department of the Toyo Trust & Banking Co., Ltd., New York Branch, which is now part of Mitsubishi UFJ. She was a relationship manager with responsibility for the origination and structuring of new transactions, preparation of credit applications, and maintenance of a diverse portfolio of leveraged loans and investment-grade credit facilities for Fortune 1000 corporate borrowers.
Sharon earned a BS in finance from Bentley University.
