William A. Sweet is the Chief Financial Officer of Ritholtz Wealth Management, a financial planning and asset management firm based in New York City. He joined the firm in 2015 as a financial planner and focuses on tax planning within individual financial plans in the context of the firm’s tax-efficient investing strategies.

Sweet was President and CEO of Stevens & Sweet Financial, a tax planning and accounting firm in Tuxedo Park, New York, from 2007-2016. He served as the President of the Tuxedo Chamber of Commerce from 2010 – 2015 and Treasurer of the Tuxedo Park Library from 2012 – 2017.

He is a Captain in the United States Army (Reserve) and served on active duty as an Armor Officer from 2002 – 2007. Sweet was awarded the Bronze Star for valorous actions in combat in Iraq in 2003 – 2004 during Operation Iraqi Freedom as a tank platoon leader, followed by two assignments as Company Commander of basic training units at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

Sweet is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and holds a BS in Computer & Systems Engineering. He was awarded the Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 2012.
