Featured Speaker: Jay A. Sellick, CFA

Jay has over 35 years of investment experience on both the buy- and sell-side. Jay has been associated with 13D Research for well over 25 years and he has specialized in the natural resource and industrial sectors since 2003. To complement his research focus, Jay writes extensively on global economic and monetary policy trends, currencies, global capex and infrastructure.

Known as an excellent stock picker, Jay contributes to 13D’s global macro strategy. He also was an analyst and portfolio manager with Reich & Tang Capital Management in New York, where he was responsible for $200 million of assets. Jay earned his bachelor’s degree in 1987 from the University of Notre Dame, where he has also established an endowment that funds student travel and study in Italy. Jay also earned an MBA from New York University in 1992 and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1993.

Jay reflected on his tenure at 13D, as follows: “Throughout my 35 years on Wall Street, 13D has been proficient at adapting to changing market circumstances. From the emphasis on SEC filings in the 1980s, to the rise of Asia and emerging markets in the 1990s, commodity-price inflation in the 2000s, the era of central-bank distortions and the rise of technology-led disruption, 13D has demonstrated an adaptability that few research firms have emulated.”
