Overview

The CFA Society New York presents an in-depth conversation that will familiarize investors with the audit process, highlighting relevant case studies and procedural changes in light of recent PCAOB and SEC actions. Audits are a critical part of ensuring the veracity of reported financial information, which investors depend on to develop and maintain a sound investment strategy.

Join us as we participate in a two-hour deep dive into the audit process. A series of experts will teach attendees how to recognize Critical Audit Matters and apply that information to their investment strategy. The discussion will feature recent examples that have triggered changes to international auditing, including WireCard and Luckin Coffee, as well as an explanation of what that means for US-based investors.

As professionals who are trained to verify financial statements, auditors are essential to the accurate evaluation of current and proposed investments; however, investors must still contend with misinformation and, occasionally, unreliable statements. Register now to learn what signals to look out for when evaluating financial statements and gain a better understanding of how the audit process continues to evolve to meet the needs of today’s financial professionals.
