Overview
Artificial Intelligence and methods of analysis such as machine learning, the availability of new data sets, sophisticated computing and computerized trading have the potential to revolutionize the financial services industry. Investment managers who know how to adopt these new technologies may have an edge; fundamental analysts and PMs may evolve to quantamental. Quants will rely more on an AI-based modeling to incorporate qualitative factors. Nonetheless, with innovation there can be potential setbacks; some data will have no value and complex computing techniques won’t always produce better results. Finding the right balance between human and machine is critical. Though explainable AI in on the horizon, allocators and asset owners may find themselves assessing a blackbox.
This conference will examine the effects of AI driven methods of analysis, new data sets and increased computing power on the investment process. We will bring together experts, practitioners, academics and innovators to present their research, express their views and discuss how AI and the Data Revolution is impacting investment management.
