Overview
This event will examine the most significant corporate reforms underway in Japan, led by the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and JPX Exchange Group. These reforms—including enhanced board independence, mandated cost-of-capital awareness, improved capital allocation, and the reduction of cross-shareholdings—are reshaping the landscape for investors and Japanese corporates alike, unlocking deep and persistent undervaluation. The event will feature a presentation by the JPX representative in New York, followed by a diverse panel discussion comprised of an actively invested asset allocator, a Japan-focused portfolio manager, and a senior executive from a Prime Market-listed Japanese company. The program will explore how reforms are being implemented, how investors are responding, and what may drive a sustained re-rating of Japanese equities. The session is intended to provide CFA members and the broader investment community with timely insights into a structural shift in one of the world’s most important equity markets.
