Overview
Presented by CFA Society New York’s Diversity & Inclusion Forum, and the Young Leaders Group.
Most of us are familiar with the benefits of mentorship: a reliable mentor can provide incomparable benefits to professionals at various career stages, offering guidance and input on key decisions. However, mentorships in a workplace setting will only take you so far when it comes to advancement. Sponsorship, an advocacy relationship that has been studied and introduced over the last decade, is the dynamic that accelerates career growth.
Tune in to this discussion, led by Cowen, to learn more about how you can leverage sponsorship to build new connections, achieve your career goals, and advance your career. This session will feature CFA charterholders at Cowen discussing the role sponsorship has played in their career paths, with special focus on sponsorship across differences, and how sponsorship can serve as an important inclusion strategy for leaders. Attendees will learn pragmatic ways to activate sponsorship for themselves through a combination of findings from research published by Harvard Business School and how individuals have deployed sponsorship to flourish and grow professionally. A Q&A session will follow.
